In partnership with SCAN USA and other public safety agencies, the Lemont Police Department has a new system that would "sound" emergency alerts all throughout Lemont.
The Safe Community Alert Network (SCAN) is designed to broadcast emergency information to computers, mobile phones, pagers and PDA's.
